Greetings Friends!
Hello! I am so happy to announce that I have received a scholarship from the Ewha Women's University.
My plan is to study in Seoul from June 20th to August 2nd. Then, after studying the Korean Language, Ceramics and Korean gender politics, I will spend about two weeks with my birth family.

Although the scholarship was incredibly generous, I still need to raise:
$1,980.00 to pay for the rest of my tuition and board
$1435.00 to cover the cost of my plane ticket
$1000.00 for food, transportation and travel insurance
I have saved some money to be able to help pay for this trip, but overall, the costs are pretty expensive.
With your support, I hope that this educational, spiritual and life changing experience can take place.
This year I have studied Korean but still my language skills are very little. I hope by studying there for two months, I will be able to return to America with stronger language skills which will improve my ability to communicate with my birth family until next summer.
Reuniting with my birth family and journeying to Korea has brought my life to a new level of wholeness. It has brought me closer to not only to my "roots" but also to a higher understanding of my "roots" here. I have become closer with my family here in the States and I have also come to understand who I am; in ways I never thought were possible.
With regards to this fundraiser; I have learned since my last trip to Korea, that nobody can truly make great changes in their life without the help and support of others. I think one of the greatest gifts I have been given since last year is the ability to ask for help, to seek guidance and to not shy away from the support and love of people who care about me.
Last year, I flew to Korea without seeking the support and guidance of others. This year, I hope to share my journey and experience with all of my friends and family.
During the course of my trip I will keep a blog with photos so you can all keep track of my interesting adventure. Maybe you will learn a little bit about Korea, the language and the culture.
Again, thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising site. I hope that you can make it to the actual art show; it will be a ton of fun.
Sincerely and with Love,
